Michel Idée,
creator of the Gallery des Cadres,
is one of the principal experts
in antique picture frames in France today.

Situated in the heart of the Paris Saint-Ouen flea markets, the Antique frames gallery offers a choice of two thousand period frames from the 19th century onwards, in styles and forms which have drawn recognition by their classicism and by their ability to frame most paintings from between 1790 and 1940. It holds the largest stock of period frames in Paris.

This is why more and more galleries, collectors, and museums such as the Musée d'Orsay, Musée de la Chasse or the Palais de Fontainebleau, come to us to frame their works of art. We also offer frames from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries (according to the frames in stock), as well as a large choice of frames for drawings and engravings.

We undertake the framing and restoration of picture frames respecting traditional methods and using current techniques, and we also meet specific or unusual requests such as the sale of mirror or mercury glass, or the framing of signed letters.

Do not hesitate to send us pictures of your paintings, drawings or engravings by e-mail. We will send back proposals for framing them which are best adapted to the work of art presented.

The picture frame gallery is open from Saturday to Monday from 10am to 6pm, or by appointment.
